Life At The Tiara

There is so much I want to share with you about the Tiara, this exceptional condominium with its unique attributes, beautiful lifestyle, and special ambience.

I am and have been a Tiara resident for over 20 years, and my memory bank is filled with the most wonderful memories and special moments shared with neighbors and friends.

Let’s start simply by telling you about entering the Tiara’s spacious and inviting lobby; how you would experience the cordial greeting of the staff, and feel the warmth that prevailed in its atmosphere. You knew right away this was a special place.

Our staff, the valets to assist you with your car, your groceries, and any other need at the time, the concierge to greet you, offer assistance and information, again to meet your needs, and other staff members to attend to the various duties that are involved in the day to day operation of a 43-story high rise. The lobby was manned all night and a rover covered the grounds. Our gated entrance was manned 24/7, and guests were announced or residents would notify the gate when a guest was expected.

On your way into the Tiara or on your way out, you could stop and run your car through the car wash.

Of course, the outstanding amenities were a major contribution to the Tiara’s luxury lifestyle. The pool area with its hot tub and tiered lounging areas had its own restaurant by the pool – The Gazebo, where residents could have breakfast, and eventually dinner. Residents could dine inside, under the beautiful canopy, or on the open tier in front of the Gazebo. Our chef, Gary McCullough, provided such excellent fare (in fact, he has remained with us through our restoration crisis). anxious to resume serving residents those delicious meals. On Sundays, some of us would take our Sunday paper and sit outside, enjoying breakfast while we read.

Which takes us to the beautiful (this adjective does not do it justice) and exceptional Marquis Restaurant & Lounge at the top of the Tiara. Residents would sit at the bar, enjoying a cocktail with their neighbors and friends, at the same time enjoying the spectacular scenery that no other place on the Island provides. The view from the Marquis is a circular panoramic view, showing the east (ocean) to infinity, the south (Palm Beach and beyond), southwest (Peanut Island and beyond), west (the magnificent bridge view and beyond), northwest, north (Jupiter Island and beyond), i.e. all that the eye can see - it’s unbelievable! And, at night, the lights, oh how lovely!

We had special dinners, parties, dances and terrific events in the Marquis. And, New Year’s Eve was the epitome of convenience – one could enjoy a fantastic New Year’s Eve party, welcome the New Year, and just take the elevator home. Again, as I mentioned in the beginning of this walk down memory lane, the memories of the events and the fun shared at the Marquis Lounge are so very special. It was a great place to have as part of your life.

The restoration, of course, will provide a brand new Marquis and Gazebo – both of which have been updated in design and are expected to be spectacular.

Then there are the Billiard Room, the Card Room, the Library Room, the men’s spa, and the women’s spa.

Not to forget, Easter Sunrise Service, with a breakfast brunch served in the Marquis immediately after the service and then a party at the pool for the children, which included an egg hunt, prizes, and an outdoor lunch. Everyone pitched in, and so many children invited as guests, having a ball.

I have no doubt of this – that the residents of the Tiara loved the lifestyle it offered and can’t wait for it to be part of their lives again.
